Working With You

Working with our Aquafilter Partners

With the help of our partners, Aquafilters are being used by communities and families in developing countries to provide clean drinking water. In situations where clean piped supplies are not feasible in the short or medium term, Aquafilters are proving that they are often the best solution for water treatment at the point of use.

Being an Aid Organisation, or a Charity supporting villages, schools and clinics, or a Rotarian, or a Volunteer working to help the less fortunate, or a Donor providing the vital financial resources, we are deeply grateful to all our partners for their contribution.

Aid Organisations

There are a number of ways to provide safe water, the solution depending on the situation in each community. Aquafilters treat water at the point of use and are particularly suitable:

  • in emergencies
  • in treating open water from wells, pond, lakes or rivers
  • where the water is biologically unsafe
  • in treating water contaminated in storage

Aquafilters remove biological contaminants, particles, bacteria and viruses to 0.02 Microns (including the polio virus). They do not need replacement parts, they are hand-pumped so do not need power and do not use chemicals in treatment. They do not remove chemicals or salt. We are currently in discussion with two organisations to work together on pilot programmes with a view to the adoption of our Aquafilters. Please see our Advantages of Aquafilters page to check whether Aquafilters are appropriate for your needs.

To discuss how Aquafilters can be an appropriate solution for many situations, please contact us. We will be very pleased to hear from you.

Charity Aid Organisations

If your organisation provides support for people in developing countries in villages, schools, hospitals or clinics and they have a problem of contaminated drinking water, please get in touch. We will be happy to discuss whether an Aquafilter could help. Please contact us

Why not sponsor an Aquafilter for your project? If you are a UK tax-payer, we can also claim GIft Aid which adds 25% to your donation. Please remember to complete the Gift Aid Declaration on our Donation Form, which you can find here,  click here.

Rotarians

The origin of our Aquafilters is in Rotary in the North East of England. We now receive support from Rotarians and Rotary Clubs throughout the UK, from those who recognise the significant benefits that an Aquafilter can bring to people in need of clean drinking water.

We work with Rotarians in a number of ways, please consider which might be the most appropriate for you and your Rotary Club. When Aquafilters are sponsored we link up the donor with the recipient and on our website you will be able to track where your Aquafilter goes. For our Aquafilters in Action please click here.

  • ask your club to donate an Aquafilter (Community or Family or both)
  • find charities in your district who visit and support communities in a developing country which may need access to safe drinking water
  • become a District Ambassador for Aquafilters, we will provide a demonstration kit with presentation materials including a DVD for presenting to your local clubs, local schools and other community groups

Volunteers

If you are going to help in developing countries, find out whether the site you are going to does not have access to clean drinking water. If it doesn’t, why not take an Aquafilter with you? Start your volunteering by making a positive contribution and make it a lasting one by leaving the Aquafilter when you come home.

One volunteer, Mandy, did exactly that recently, taking Aquafilters as part of her luggage allowance! You can read about it on our Aquafilter facebook page click here.

It would be great if you could raise the money for an Aquafilter for your volunteering; to get our Donation Form please click here.

But if you can’t raise the funds, don’t worry, just ask and we will see if we can provide you with a sponsored Aquafilter. Many returning volunteers have been inspired to fundraise when they have witnessed first hand the difference Aquafilters have made to people’s lives.

Aquafilters in Action

Aquafilters are deployed in many developing countries; some have been operating for over 4 years. To see where our Aquafilters are providing clean drinking water and improving the lives of real people, please view our Aquafilters in Action page.

We at The Safe Water Trust would like to express our grateful thanks to all of our partners who, by working together, make it possible for people in developing countries to have clean drinking water.

If you would like to help, please contact Gill or John Griffith telephone +44(0)191 536 3851, or email  info@safewatertrust.com or send us a message via our contact page.
